Sahara Money Refund Portal 2023 – Step-by-Step Process to Claim Refund of Your Sahara Money

On 18th July 2023, the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS), Ministry of Cooperatives, Government of India under Hon’ble Union Minister for Home & Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah launched an online platform in the name of Sahara Money Refund Portal.

It is for all the people whose money is stuck in Sahara Company and are worried whether they will get their money or not. Now people can easily apply through this online portal and can claim their sahara money. This is a great initiative by the government to refund the money to the Genuine Sahara Depositors.

What is Sahara Refund Portal?

Union Cooperative Minister Amit Shah launched the Sahara Refund Portal on July 18, 2023, inviting Sahara’s 10 crore depositors. Investors whose investment period has finished will receive their money back using this portal.

The website was created in response to the Supreme Court’s decision, and it attempts to give all important information to Sahara investors regarding the Money refund procedure.

The Ministry of Cooperation has taken this move to resolve the claims of investors who had money invested with the Sahara Portal and the cooperative societies of the Sahara Group, notably the Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited. The Supreme Court has directed that CRCS set aside Rs 5,000 crore for certain claims.

Who are eligible to apply through CRCS Sahara Money Refund Portal?

The genuine and legitimate Depositors of the following four Sahara Societies are eligible for a refund:

  • a. Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata.
  • b. Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow.
  • c. Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Bhopal.
  • d. Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Hyderabad.

Also, The Depositors must have made deposits & have outstanding dues receivable before the following dates, for filing a claim request:

On 22nd March 2022 for:

  • a. Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata.
  • b. Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow.
  • c. Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Bhopal.

On 29th March 2023 for:

  • a. Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Hyderabad.

What documents are required while applying on CRCS Sahara Refund Portal?

The required documents are:

  • Aadhar Number
  • Aadhaar linked Mobile no. (Mandatory)
  • Aadhaar-linked Bank Account
  • Membership no.
  • Deposit Account No.
  • Deposit certificates/Passbook
  • PAN card (if the claim amount is Rs. 50,000/- and above) (Mandatory)

Is Aadhar Linked Bank Account Mandatory for Sahara Money Refund?

Yes, the Depositor should have Aadhaar seeded Bank account mandatorily without which, the claim request cannot be filed on the Portal.

How much time will it take to get Sahara refund?

The refund of the claimed amount will be directly credited to Depositor’s Aadhaar-seeded bank account only after 45 days from the date of successful claim submission.

Does the Depositor need to pay any Charges for filling CRCS Sahara Money Claim Form?

No, for filling out the claim form depositors need not pay any charges to anyone. It is free of cost to apply for genuine and legitimate depositors.

How to Apply on CRCS Sahara Refund Portal?

For Applying to CRCS Sahara Refund Portal depositors has to follow two stages:

  • Stage I: Depositor Registration Process
  • Stage II: Depositor Login Process

Stage I: Depositor Registration Process

For Depositors Registration-

  • Step 2: Click on Depositors Registration

  • Step 3: For Depositor Registration, you need to enter the last 4 digits Aadhaar Number, 10 digits Aadhaar linked Mobile Number, a captcha, and press “Get OTP”.

  • Step 4: Enter the OTP received on Aadhaar linked Mobile Number and complete the Registration process.

Stage II: Depositor Login Process

  • Step 1: Click on Depositor Login

  • Step 2: On Depositor Login Screen, enter the last 4 digits Aadhaar Number, 10 digits Aadhaar linked Mobile Number, and the captcha, and press “Get OTP”.

  • Step 3: Enter the OTP received on Aadhaar linked Mobile Number.

  • Step 4: Once Depositor Logs in, Depositor will see Aadhaar Consent Screen. Move to the next Page after Accepting the terms and conditions by clicking on the “I Agree” button.

  • Step 5: On the Personal Details Screen, enter 12 Digit Aadhaar Number and click on “Get OTP”. The depositor will receive OTP on Aadhaar linked Mobile Number.

  • Step 6: Enter OTP and press Verify OTP.

  • Step 7: After Verifying OTP, the system displays the Aadhaar user details like First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and Father/ Husband Name.

  • Step 8: Also user can enter Email then click on “Save Email” and press the “Next” button.

  • Step 9: Depositor will enter details as displayed on the screen.

  • Step 10: Click on the “Add Claim” Button and Depositor will see all details in the below grid. Here, the Depositor will be able to add multiple Claim Details.

  • Step 11: Once all Claim details are entered, Generate Prefilled Claim Request Form.

  • Step 12: Affix the recent photograph and duly sign across the photo as well as the Claim form.

  • Step 13: On the “Upload Documents” Screen, upload the Claim Form and PAN Card copy. (PAN Card is mandatory, if Claim Amount is Rs.50,000 or above.)

  • Step 14: Thank you Page will display a Claim Request Number. Kindly note the Claim Request Number for future reference.
